Our Story

A promise nearly 30 years in the making

Journey from Yan'an to San Francisco
Chapter 1

The Scholarship That Changed Everything

While in college, our founder received a scholarship sponsored by a local company. It was more than financial support — it was a door to a world of new possibilities and perspectives that would shape the course of a lifetime.

Chapter 2

A Journey to Yan'an

Yan'an, Shaanxi Province — the Pagoda Hill overlooking the city

That scholarship opened the door to an extraordinary opportunity: a journey to Yan'an, Shaanxi Province, China. There, our founder encountered a world vastly different from his own — one where families struggled daily to provide even the most basic educational resources for their children.

Chapter 3

Eyes Full of Hope

What left the deepest impression was meeting local students. Despite every obstacle they faced, their eyes burned with an unmistakable eagerness to learn. Their determination in the face of hardship was both humbling and deeply inspiring — a testament to the transformative power of hope.

Chapter 4

A Promise Made

In that moment, a quiet but unshakeable promise was made: if the opportunity ever came, he would help families and students in poverty gain equal access to quality education. It was a commitment born not from obligation, but from genuine conviction.

Chapter 5

Years of Giving Back

Throughout the years that followed, the founder never forgot that promise. Even before establishing the foundation, he consistently donated to education-focused public charities — supporting scholarships, school programs, and community learning initiatives. Every contribution kept the flame alive.

Chapter 6

From San Francisco to the World

San Francisco — where the Jaez Foundation was established

Nearly 30 years after that life-changing visit, and now based in San Francisco, California, the founder established the Jaez Foundation in 2024. What began as a seed planted on the hills of Yan'an has blossomed into a global mission — providing scholarships and support to underprivileged youth around the world.
